§1 Who can use the archive

Family Photo Archive is private and invite-only. You may use it if you've been invited and your account has been approved by the site owner. Please don't share your access or invite people outside the family without an admin's okay.

§2 Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself and use a password you don't use elsewhere. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so let an admin know right away if you think someone else has access. Please give accurate information when you sign up, and keep one account per person.

§3 Being a good family member here

When you upload, comment, tag, or react, please:

• Be kind and respectful — this is a shared family space.
• Only add content you have the right to share.
• Don't upload anything unlawful, harmful, or that doesn't belong in a family archive.
• Don't harass, impersonate, or upset other members.

§4 The content you add

What you upload stays yours — you keep ownership of your photos, documents, and videos. By adding them, you give Family Photo Archive permission to store and display them to other family members as part of the archive. You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload, and that you've considered the feelings of anyone else who appears in it.

§5 Tagging and others' privacy

Tagging helps us remember who's who, but it also names real people. Tag thoughtfully, and if someone asks for a tag or a photo of them to be removed, respect that. Admins can remove tags or content to honor a request.

§6 Admins and moderation

Branch admins look after content within their family branch, and the site owner oversees the whole archive. To keep things tidy and safe, admins may edit or remove content, manage tags and comments, and manage accounts and roles. Decisions are made with the family's best interests in mind.

§7 Suspending or ending access

If someone uses the archive in a way that harms others or breaks these terms, the site owner may suspend or remove their access. You can leave any time by deactivating your account; when you do, your login is retired but your name may remain as a ghost profile so you can still be recognized in tagged photos (as described in the Privacy Policy).

§8 Availability and your originals

This is a lovingly self-hosted, non-commercial site, provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running and backed up, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of the occasional hiccup. Please keep your own copies of anything precious — treat the archive as a shared home for memories, not your only copy.

§9 Our responsibility

Family Photo Archive is offered in good faith for the family's enjoyment, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the site and its owner aren't liable for losses arising from using the archive, such as content becoming unavailable. This doesn't limit anything that can't be limited by law.

§10 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the archive grows. When we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and its effective date and let members know through the site. Continuing to use the archive means you accept the current terms.
